Churches

Most of the region’s churches are of traditional architecture, reworked during the 19th century. But some date from the Middle Ages and still have medieval features. From the small mountain churches of the Baronnies region to the monumental church of Galan, they offer a whole diversity of architectural styles, and many are home to frescoes, altarpieces and other hidden treasures. You can see them by attending Mass, or you can join one of the guided walks organised in summer, such as the Circuit des églises des Côteaux (hillside churches walk)
