"Le Pouey", designates a high place from where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the villages of the Baronnies but also their summits including the "Pic du Midi de Bigorre".

Remarks : Original! The observation point is an original and practical work of use, consisting of tubes directed towards the remarkable points, was made by the children of the school of Bourg-de-Bigorre.

Steps

1From the "Moulin des Baronnies", follow the stadium, cross the Arros on a bridge and join the D14. Follow it to the left (caution), go on the way to Bourg de Bigorre, on 500m.
2Leave the road to take a right onto the path that climbs into the forest. After passing a ruined barn, it reaches a branch road.
3Turn left: the path passes between the houses of the "Le Pouey" district and then arrives at the "orientation point" (points of view on the peak of Bazès, the Monné of Bagnères, the mountain of Billexe, the "Casque du Lhéris", the "Soum du Bassia", the Montaigu, the "Pic du Midi du Bigorre", the peak of Gar… as well as on the villages of Escots, Espieilh, Bourg-de-Bigorre, Mauvezin and its castle…). It continues downhill for 900m to an intersection. Take to the left the path that goes down to a picnic area.
4Follow the D14 to the right, cross the Arros bridge then at the crossroads, turn left to enter Bourg-de-Bigorre. After the small building of the bascule, turn left towards Sarlabous and follow it for 1,2km.
5Leave it under a high voltage line to take a path to the left. It descends into the meadows then into a wood and joins the campsite and the mill of the Baronnies.
