A hike facing the Pyrenees, on the ancient "Ténarèze", the path of César. One of the oldest thoroughfares in the Pyrenees, bordered by numerous tumuli. There is an important necropolis of the Iron Age. The mounds are still visible and for the most part, never searched. So much to discover about the first farmers/hunters of the Pyrenees.

Steps

1Go down the road and at the junction, continue in front of the D139. Follow it for 650m then at the intersection, go right towards Tilhouse. Follow the road to the village.
2Take the D82 left for 200m then go down the small road to "Eth Carreyot" right. At the spur, continue downhill to the right, then left below the hangar. Continue in the forest for about 3.5 km while staying on the main path. After crossing a conifer stand, reach a spur. Go left and reach an intersection.
3Turn left. After about 1.4 km, reach a junction.
4Turn left, then at the next intersection, continue straight up a ravine. Reach an intersection of paths. Go up to the right.
520 m before reaching a road, take the road to the left ("Chemin de la Ténarèze") and follow it always straight to the west (we follow 2 tumuli buried under the ferns). Follow the first houses, then at the crossroads, turn right and join a road (D82). Follow it to the left for a few meters, then take the road to the right. Continue to the "Croix de Menguine" (benches, beautiful views of the Pyrenees).
6Continue opposite, towards the west, until the first houses of Capvern. Continue straight on for 500m and reach a crossroads, at the level of an agricultural shed. Take the small road to the left and get to the D139. Cut it (caution) and continue opposite by the street of "Pic du Midi". Follow it for 200m.
7Go down a driveway to the left. After 700m, at the level of a barn on the right, leave the road to go down to the left along the meadow. Cross the "Garravet" stream on a footbridge and go up in front until Molère. Join the parking on the right.
