The "Esquéda" is a pretty stream that joins the Arros river at the level of Bourg de Bigorre. Between crests, hamlets, villages and forests, this very pleasant hike offers a beautiful discovery of the always green, Baronnies valley

Remarks : - A voir à Esconnets : église, statue de St Jacques le Majeur réalisée par les sœurs de l’Abbaye d’Ozon.
- Hors itinéraire : en suivant le chemin en face sur 300 m, possibilité de se rendre au village d'Escots.

Steps

1Walk along the church to the east and take the street to the left which leads to the small building of the "Bascule". Continue straight on the D84, towards Bonnemazon. Leave the road to the right, cross the "Esquéda" on a bridge and take a wide path to the left that becomes a path at the entrance to the forest. Continue to the place called the "Croix de Lamarque" (beautiful view of the Baronnies and the Pyrenees).
2Turn right onto the small road and follow it to the "Couyou" district. Cross south and continue straight on the tar for 1.3km. You get to a road: follow it to the left for 500m then to the right for 150m and join the D26.
3Take it to the left and then take a wide road to the right that goes up to Esconnets. Pass in front of the town hall and then the church. Leave the first road on the right and then reach an intersection.
4Turn left for 30 meters and then take a wide path to the right (nice view of the Baronnies). Leave to the right the road that leads to the "Col de la Pède" and then descend through woods and meadows to the village of Fréchendets and its church.
5Turn right and at the end of the village, go down a road to the left. Join the D26. Follow it to the right for 100m, go down to the left towards the Esquéda that you cross on a bridge and take to the left the path that climbs through the woods to a small road.
6Follow it to the left and continue straight until "Cap de Soumettre", then beyond, until the "Arrahous" district. Continuing north, we reach the D84, at the entrance of Bourg-de-Bigorre. Follow it to the right and find the church.
