One of the most «nature» and «fairytale» hikes. It is called «the little Amazonia of the Pyrenees» or «the Gourgue» to fairies and brouches. For there all is mystery and enchantment. At the bottom of a narrow and wet gorge dug by the clear waters of the Arros, one almost feels like in a lost jungle or in a world of elves and goblins. The vegetation is exuberant and the fauna and flora fragile. To discover in family, even in grey weather!

Steps
1
From the old sawmill (read the extensive information on the history of this former logging site), take the path bordered by boxwood and hazelnut following the river Arros. Follow it to the Gourgue. You walk among mosses and lichens above the clear and transparent water. Take the time to read the information panels.
2
Cross the Arros on a bridge and then turn right. You are at the Gourgue. Note on the left the caves pierced by the Arros, then impetuous river (see information panels). Cross the bridge on the right and then follow the markings on the left. Be careful, some parts can be very slippery. Further, it is possible to complete the complete loop up to the Oueil de l'Arros (by second bridge) or to return to the left by crossing a first bridge. The Oueil de l'Arros («the eye of the Arros») is the source of the river.
3
The return to the car park is done by the right bank road with nice views of the Arros then leave the Gourgue by the path already taken to go. Take the bridge to the left and follow the path to the old sawmill (parking).
