Véloroute V81 cycling itinerary
The V81 Pyrenean Piedmont Plain Véloroute itinerary covers part of our region facing the Pyrenees.
Vélosud is an invitation to gently explore the Pyrenean Foothills, linking the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea through breathtaking landscapes.
This shared route, accessible to all, follows peaceful roads that wind between hills and valleys, offering at every turn stunning views of the majestic Pyrenees range.
The V81 connects with the cycle route “La Vallée de la Baïse” (V82) at Galan, then heads south toward Lannemezan and Saint-Bertrand-de-Comminges. The entire route is fully signposted as V81 / Vélosud.
Accessible to both cycle tourists and sporty cyclists, the V81 offers a gentle alternative to the legendary mountain passes, allowing riders to explore the beautiful valleys at their own pace and discover their rich heritage.
And who knows? After this peaceful crossing, the call of the peaks might just tempt you higher, towards the legendary cols.
The Baïse Valley Cycle Route (V82)
An Adventure Through History and Pyrenean Landscapes!
From the Canal des Deux Mers to the foothills of the Pyrenees, the Baïse Valley cycle route offers an immersive journey through a region where nature and heritage exist in perfect harmony. Far from monotonous, the route alternates between ridge roads and lush green valleys, with the majestic Pyrenees always on the horizon. Seasoned cyclists will find an ideal terrain for challenges, while leisure riders can enjoy the scenery at their own pace—especially with the help of electric assistance. And just before reaching Galan, the ultimate reward: a breathtaking view of the snow-capped peaks.
This journey is a tribute to discovery, where every pedal stroke unveils a new facet of this preserved land, blending Gascon charm with Pyrenean grandeur.
