Steps

Departure: "Bois de la Plantade" (once a place of market, entertainment and pasture near the village). Pleasant forest passages in the middle of oaks, beeches or Douglas fir. At the exit of the wood, follow a property surrounded by a large wall, turn right and continue along the wall facing the Pyrenees (beautiful perspectives), then turn left to access the level of an old gas station at the D929 which you have to cross to enter a path facing the station (Warning! traffic often important).
Soon after, leave the road to take a left towards the "Bas Mour" district (traditional houses, cross with all the symbols of the passion of Christ, Saint Barthélémy Chapel, Middle Ages, being restored). Before the cross, turn left, to find the D142 near the typical bridge of Montoussé.
Turn left and shortly after, leave the road for a path to the right that runs along an alluvial terrace of the "Neste" (view on the remains of the castle of La Barthe de Neste, old county). The path runs along a wood and we are in the commune of Escala. Turn left to find the D938 that we cross.
Pass in front of the church of Escala (sundial), then leave the road to the left for a path and again turn left towards La Barthe de Neste (beautiful views of the Pyrenees and the Valley of Neste as well as on the banks of the Plateau de Lannemezan) (Escala-ladder-passage from the valley to the plateau). Return to La Barthe de Neste and crossing the village. Note in the "Grand Rue", facing the Post Office, the "Maison des 4 Vallées" (former seat of the 4 Vallées district in the 18th century). Pass in front of the Halle and return of the Plantade by the street of the market to the right of the cross and the grocery (formerly, the "place Haourès" was the place of the fire of Saint John).
